POWELL STREET FESTIVAL PRESENTS SPATIAL POETICS XIII WE MIX

Spatial Poetics is an evening of experimental performance pieces in which artists are invited to create new performance-based work together and encouraged to work beyond their usual disciplines.

In Spatial Poetics XIII: WeMix, curators Yactac assemble an eclectic mix of emerging Asian Canadian artists working in a variety of different forms. Among the collaborating artists are visual artist Kuh Del Rosario and graphic designer Ryan Romero, who will converge to explore the grey area between contemporary art and design through performance. The concept of collectivity will be examined in a live performance by interdisciplinary artist Patrick Cruz with musicians Franco Maravilla, Miguel Maravilla and Charity Cruz and dancer Michelle Lui. Award-winning filmmaker, published author and spoken word artist Kagan Goh, dancer/choreographer Salome Nieto and cellist/composer Nicholas Epperson will pay homage to Japanese Canadians through poems, music and dance.

WHERE: Western Front, Luxe Hall. 303 East 8th Avenue.

WHEN: Thursday 3rd July.  Doors open 7.30 pm.  Show starts 8 pm.

    Entry by suggested donation: $5 - $20
